Delete your vayo.id account

vayo.id is operated by VayoMed, Inc. (251 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808, U.S.A.). This page explains how to request deletion of your account and the personal information we hold about you.

How to request deletion

You can request deletion of your vayo.id account two ways:

Option 1 — From the vayo.id mobile or web app

  1. Sign in to your account in the vayo.id mobile app (Continue with Apple / Google / Microsoft or your email) or at vayo.id/sign-in.
  2. Open the Settings tab (gear icon, bottom-right of the mobile app; profile menu on the web).
  3. Tap Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, your account and the personal data described below are deleted on the schedule listed in the next section.

Option 2 — By email

If you cannot sign in (lost device, lost credentials, etc.), email us from the address associated with your vayo.id account:

  • To: privacy@vayo.id
  • Subject: Account deletion request
  • Body: include the email address on your vayo.id account so we can confirm ownership. We will respond within 7 calendar days to confirm receipt and within 30 days to confirm completion of deletion.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove the following from our active systems within 72 hours of the confirmation, and from backups within 30 days on a rolling basis:

  • Your account profile (name, email, authentication identifiers associated with your Clerk sign-in).
  • Every digital business card you created (display name, title, company, contact fields, social links, bio, etc.).
  • Every uploaded image (headshot, company logo, cover photo, QR center mark) — these are removed from our Vercel Blob storage.
  • Every contact you saved or scanned, including notes, tags, and note attachments.
  • Every scanned business-card image stored under contacts/{id}/scans/ and attached note images under contacts/{id}/notes/.
  • Product analytics events associated with your distinct ID (PostHog). The analytics provider's own retention window applies in addition to ours.

What is retained

A limited set of records may be retained after account deletion for the reasons listed below. Where retained, the data is held for the minimum period required:

  • Encrypted backups — for up to 30 days on a rolling basis. After that window, your data is fully removed from backups.
  • Tax, billing, and audit records — for the minimum period required by U.S. tax law (currently up to 7 years) and only if you ever made a paid transaction. The free tier produces no such records.
  • Anonymized / aggregated usage statistics — for ongoing product improvement. These cannot be associated with you and contain no personal identifiers.
  • Records required to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements — kept only for as long as needed for that specific purpose, then deleted.
  • Error logs (Sentry) — scrubbed of personal identifiers at capture and retained for up to 90 daysper Sentry's default retention.
